Support for Micro instances type

I would like to start using the Micro instances type just released by Amazon with Scalr.
When are you planning to support the type?

    Support for it added a few minutes ago. Please keep in mind that t1.micro supported only by EBS based roles. Standart roles doesn't support it.

    So, how would one go about using a micro instance via Scalr? Is there a way to turn an existing role into an EBS based role?

    t1.micro can be launched only on EBS based instances (roles). You can import custom EBS based role using this manual: http://wiki.scalr.net/How_to.../Import_a_non_Scalr_server

    Or use one of our CentOS roles (they're EBS based).

    Based on that manual, it sounds like you have to start with a non-Scalr enabled EBS based image, customize it, then scalrize it? Is there any way to take a functioning Scalr image and turn that into an EBS based image?

    Jeremy,

    You can choose t1.micro as an instance type with CentOS5.4 base role.

    No, there is no way to do this. We're working on feature that will allow to convert old scalr roles to new ones (scalarized).

    As an option you can use CentOS Scalr shared roles. They're already EBS based and Scalarized.

    I'd love to create micro loadbalancers and app servers for one app but i'm a bit stuck being unable to select micro until you've built EBS versions, so i'd love to see em asap. Is there a timeline?

    We cannot provide any ETA. We will try to increase number of EBS based roles ASAP.
