we need to create a couple farms inside a VPC, how does that work with scalr?
How do we configure it?
Does anything with DNS change?
Elastic IP's vs Regular IP's?

Currently Scalr doesn't support VPC. You can configure it thru AWS API or AWS console. The main condition required by scalr is instances should be accessible from Scalr servers.

Yes, I can see that I need to configure the VPC outside scalr, but I guess I don't understand how I spinnup instances from hosted scalr in that VPC as opposed to where it's spinning them up now.
Is this handled via environments?

AH, there is no way to specify VPC for role. It's in our todo lists.
