We've had this issue for the last 3 years and its quite irritating to have to remove the db role and re-add every time it occurs.

We have a test farm that we bring up and down occasionally. We also periodically clean out our ec2 volumes that aren't attached to servers, which often results in the db volume being accidentally deleted. We then get the following error:

Wait for Agent BeforeHostUp phase to complete
Volume not found: vol-7f743e84. Most likely it was deleted. You can check "Regenerate storage if missing volumes" in UI to create clean storage volume with the same settings

As far as I can tell, there isn't an option to for db servers to regenerate storage volumes and so we have to remove the farm role, save and re-add.

    Patrick,

Flag to regenerate storage is available on Database tab in farm role settings. You can use it to solve this problem

    Hi Marat,

I don't see anything that looks like regenerate storage here.

    Thanks
