Hi,

Created new image and now terminated old server to replace with the new one. The new server does not start - stuck in pending mode and I see nothing in the scalarizr logs. Scalarizr does not seem to run.

Urgent help will be appreciated. We are generally having some connectivity issues and do not know what's happening to our frontend....we started by replacing the servers and it failed to start.

Regards,
Arie

You've hit into a bug in Scalarizr 3.3.17 http://update.scalr.net/ that was fixed in 3.3.18
To initialize Scalarizr it's required to chmod init scripts via

    chmod +x /opt/scalarizr/init/debian/scalr-upd-client
    chmod +x /opt/scalarizr/init/debian/scalarizr
    service scalr-upd-client start

After you'll get your server running, please create snapshot.

Currently server failed because your Tomcat init script can't start:

touch: cannot touch ‘/var/lib/tomcat7/logs/catalina.out’: No such file or directory
chown: cannot access ‘/var/lib/tomcat7/logs/catalina.out’: No such file or directory

    Thanks Marat.....

    Just trying to understand something....

I resolved the scalrizr issue and the tomcat issue was because the log is sitting in an /mnt directory which is not replicated by the snapshot.

Is there a way to get the display out of "pending" mode - won't it terminate my server after a while automatically? even that the server seems to be fine now...

For example....I am not sure scalr adds it now to the load balancer in this state.

Pending server it's not fine from Scalr prospective, and it will terminate it.

To initialize server please fix tomcat and scalarizr issues and start scalr-upd-client service.

Before you answered was trying to create a new snapshot with the fixed properties.

Now I am failing to create the snapshot on
    https://my.scalr.com/#/bundletasks?id=82359

due to "Invalid cloud credentials" ??

    Haven't changed anything.

    Arie,
Please ignore the latest message about invalid cloud credentials. It was a temporary issue on the server side. It's been fixed now.

Ok, I made a new snapshot with the above fixing. However it seems to be still stuck stuck in pending at "Wait for OS to finish booting" step.

Looks like scalarizr is up, the tomcat log dir is fine.

Your server is still booting with Scalarizr 3.3.17. We've initialized it manually.
    Please create snapshot from d809cecf-ba77-4ed4-84dd-6821bdc07275
